Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
The short version:
- We collect what we need to run your website and your account, and to bill you.
- We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Leads from your site's visitors belong to you; we process them on your behalf.
- You can ask us to access, correct or delete your information at team@skaude.com.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how skaude ("skaude", "we", "us") handles personal information when you visit staging.skaude.com, use our dashboard at app-staging.skaude.com, or interact with websites we host for our customers (the "Service").
2. Information we collect
Customers (business owners)
- Account: name, e-mail, business name, and sign-in records (time, IP address, browser).
- Billing: plan, billing history and the last digits/brand of your card. Card numbers are collected and stored by Stripe, not by us.
- Site content: what you put on your website (text, photos, logos, hours, prices) and your settings.
- Communications: messages you send us and support history.
Businesses we prepare a preview for
To offer a free preview, we use publicly available business information, such as business name, category, business phone, address, hours, website and public ratings, from public sources and business listing services. We collect business contact details, not information about your private life. You can ask us to delete a preview and stop contacting you at any time (see section 8).
Visitors to our customers' websites
When a visitor submits a form on a site we host (for example, a quote request), we collect what they enter (such as name, phone, e-mail, ZIP code and message) and deliver it to the business. We also record basic events such as taps on the call button. For this information, the business is responsible for its use, and we act as its service provider.
Automatically
Like most websites, our servers and providers receive technical data such as IP address, browser, device, pages requested and timestamps, used for security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting and aggregate statistics. We use only cookies needed to keep you signed in and secure. We don't use third-party advertising cookies.
3. How we use information
- to provide, host, maintain and secure the Service and your website;
- to create and deliver previews to businesses, and to follow up about them;
- to process payments, prevent fraud and enforce our Terms;
- to send service messages (sign-in links, new lead alerts, receipts, payment notices, policy changes);
- to provide support and improve the Service, including aggregate analytics;
- to comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
We may use automated tools, including AI models, to draft website content from business information. We don't use visitors' lead submissions to train AI models.
4. How we share information
We share personal information only as needed to run the Service:
- Service providers that process data on our behalf under contract, including hosting and content delivery (Cloudflare), database hosting (Neon), payments (Stripe), e-mail delivery (Resend), error monitoring (Sentry), and, when used, domain registrars and AI providers;
- The business you contact: lead submissions go to the business whose website you used;
- Legal reasons: to comply with law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety and property;
- Business transfers: as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell personal information and do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined in California law.
5. Retention
We keep account and site data while your account is active and for up to 90 days after it ends so you can reactivate, then delete or anonymize it, except where we must keep records longer (for example, billing and tax records, typically 7 years). Unclaimed previews are deleted after they expire, and prospect business information is deleted when no longer needed or on request. Lead submissions are kept for the business while its account is active.
6. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you of a breach as required by law.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas and other U.S. states), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold, access it, correct it, delete it, receive a portable copy, and opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising (we don't do these), and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, e-mail team@skaude.com. We'll verify your request using information associated with you and respond within the time required by law. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof of authorization. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our response.
If you are a visitor who submitted a form on a business's website, please contact that business first; we'll help them respond.
You can stop marketing e-mails using the unsubscribe link in them. Service messages (like sign-in links and receipts) are part of the Service.
8. Not interested in a preview?
If we prepared a preview for your business and you'd like it deleted and not to be contacted again, e-mail team@skaude.com with your business name and phone number. We'll remove it and add you to our do-not-contact list.
9. Children
The Service is for businesses and is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 where applicable). We don't knowingly collect their personal information.
10. Where data is processed
We are based in the United States and process data in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. We take steps so that your information remains protected as described in this Policy.
11. Changes
We may update this Policy. If changes are material, we'll notify customers by e-mail or in the dashboard before they take effect. The "Last updated" date shows the latest version.
